Charles Turns Four at School (sort of)

Charles's teachers have been letting the kids who have summer birthdays celebrate with the class during the last couple of weeks of school.  Friday was Charles's turn, so Mom, Dad, and Sawyer came to St. Columba's with cupcakes (Mom had the fleeting thought that she would make them from scratch, and then came to her senses and made a trip to Whole Foods on Thursday evening) for snack time and celebrated Charles's 4th B-Day with the class.

Baby Sawyer Comes Home

After an extra night in the special care nursery, Sawyer came home on the afternoon of May 27th.

She was a trooper on her first car ride.  Mom brought her home from the hospital alone, which she would have never attempted with Charles!

Baby Sawyer Arrives

Born on May 24th, 2010, at 3:07pm, at Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington, DC.  At her first weighing, she was 7lb 6oz, but when the nurse went to record the weight about 30 minutes later, the scale hadn't saved it, so she had to be re-weighed, and she only weighed 7lb 4oz the second time.  So, we're sticking with 7lb 6oz because we have the proof in a photograph, but the birth certificate will say otherwise.  Here are a few pics from our time at the hospital...

New Sneakers

The kind of shoes you end up buying when your child starts having his own fashion sense.  Yes..they are mostly silver, hence the glare. (And I know that the red socks don't help, but they were Dad's doing, not mine!)

Not Exactly What I Had in Mind

We took Charles to the Build-A-Bear store yesterday so that he could make a stuffed animal for his baby sister (who is being evicted on May 24th if she doesn't come out on her own this week).  Here's what we ended up taking home...
